Position: Assistant Pastor to Youth and Young Adults

Reports to: Senior Pastor

 

JOB SUMMARY

Provides Pastoral Care especially to the Youth and Young Adults by preaching, teaching biblical truths, and counselling; leading in the planning and implementation of goals, objectives and Action Plans

of the Youth and Young Adults Ministry; overseeing the Christian Education ministries of the church and providing support in the different areas of ministries as needed

 

HOURS

40 hours per week or as per individual contract

 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Preaching/Teaching

·      Preaches and always teaches biblical truths faithfully to the Youth in one-on-one setting and to groups

·      May share the preaching and teaching ministry of the Pastoral Staff with other areas of ministries

Prayer

·      Pray for the youth and young adult flock; encourages deep and faithful prayer

 

Pastoral Functions

·      From time to time assist in performing pastoral functions such as weddings, dedications and funerals

 

Member/Congregational Care

·      Visits and counsels the youth and their families

·      Leads in the development of new youth bible study groups

·      Creates a supportive contact with parents and youth

 

Outreach

·      Coordinates with Christian Education Ministry and Pastoral Staff to ensure effective strategies are in place to welcome, follow-up and assimilate new youth guests into the life and ministries of the church

 

Leadership/Discipleship

·      Leads in the planning and organization of the Youth Ministry goals, objectives and Action Plans; monitors and evaluates the implementation of the Action Plans

·      Leads in the planning and implementation of mentoring strategies for the youth leaders, identifying and developing new ones

·      Reviews and coordinates lessons of Pre-Teens, Youth, College and University Groups

Administrative

·      Oversee and coordinate with the Children's Ministry Coordinator and Sunday School ministry in the planning and implementation of ministries such as VBS, MB4Kids, Junior Church, and any other related children’s ministry

 

Area of Ministry to Oversee

·      Christian Education ministries of the church

·      Provide assistance to the senior pastor in overseeing his designated ministries as needed
