SERMON NOTES

Text: Acts 9:31
Introduction: This one verse speaks volume of what happened to the churches in the region mentioned after the conversion of Saul. They began to prosper and, in the process, became attractive. These churches thrived in the following conditions:

  1. The climate of __________________ (“had peace”).

  2. The climate of __________________ (“were edified”)

  3. The climate of __________________(“walking in the fear of God and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit”).

Addendum

Speaker: Pastor Solo Reyes

Read: Exodus 20:1-6

SERMON NOTES

Why is the 1st and 2nd commandment so important?

Because the God you worship rules your life.
Who or what you worship is king of your life.

Thus you see this king of addendum to the 1st & 2nd Commandment.

Exodus 20:5-6 - 5 you shall not bow down to them nor [a]serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting[b] the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

Three Responsibilities to our children as families and as a church:

  1. Enlighten
We have the responsibility to make God known to our children.

  2. Educate
We have the responsibility to educate them about the reality of evil in the world and God’s judgment of it.

  3. Evangelize
We have the responsibility to point them to Christ, who is our Saviour from sin. Shelter from evil, Sustainer through our struggles in this world beset by evil.
