Title: "The Faith We Hold and Cherish"

How do you know what someone cherishes and holds dear?

WORSHIP (Look to the LORD)  5-10m 

Read Romans 8:38-39  and pray sentence prayers to the Lord with this verse as a prayer prompt.     

WORD (Learn  the Word) 20-40m

Outline:

How do we describe the faith that we hold and cherish as believers and followers of Christ?

I. It is a SCRIPTURAL FAITH

II. It is a SAVING FAITH

III. It is a SINGING FAITH

IV. It is a STEADFAST/SURE FAITH

1)     What is meant by a Scriptural faith?   See Matthew 7:24-29.

2)     What are the characteristics of a saving faith according to the Lord?   Read Matthew 7:21-23. What other Scriptures can you think of in relation to this question?

3)     What place does singing have in a believer’s life?    Look at these Scriptures and discuss:   Ephesians 5:17-21;  Psalm 100.  

4)     What are the marks of a steadfast and sure faith?   Hebrews 12:1-3;   John 10:27-30.  

WORKS (Live the Word) 15-20m

1)     We have learned that the faith we hold and cherish is a faith that is Scriptural, saving, singing and steadfast/sure faith.    What are the practical implications of having such a kind of faith?   How should this impact the way we live?
